This band is one of many bands that I never had the chance to hear on any mainstream media broadcasting. The Redneck Manifesto actually just came down from heaven with the message, for eargasm and inspiration only. Just kidding. Seriously, the band has been active in the past decade and has released four albums within the same decade. There’s no surprise as to why bands such as the Redneck Manifesto doesn’t have much exposure and haven’t reached the farther reaches of the earth, which we’ve got mainstream media to blame.
Going into their music, The Redneck Manifesto (TRM) is an instrumental rock quintet hailing from Dublin, Ireland. Their brand of music may be comparable to the other math rock/progressive bands out in the open, with repeated riffs and heavy progressions you’ll think of them as angst driven people with nothing more in mind other than shredding the guitar and blasting your ears off its cap. Actually it’s quite different, TRM balances the heavy, the subtle and the dreamy from one another.
TRM’s music provides the right amount electricity for us to jump and bump, and as well as the right amount of marshmallow for us to enjoy the clouds bounce away as we lay our backs and relax.
The Redneck Manifesto are Mervyn Craig on drums, Richard Egan on bass, Niall Byrne and Matthew Bolger on guitas and Neil O’Connor on keyboards. You can visit them at their MySpace and on their label’s profile.
